About Andres
I was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. I am a PhD student in Hispanic Linguistics with an M.A. in Spanish Teaching and a B.A. in Bilingual Education. I have taught Spanish courses at US universities, focusing on practical communication skills and fostering a supportive, student-centered learning environment. My teaching approach includes integrating real-world applications, project-based learning, and cultural immersion. As a Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant at a community college, I facilitated language interaction between American and Colombian students through innovative online sessions and developed cultural-based materials using a popular Colombian telenovela to enhance listening skills and cultural understanding. I hold certifications in Spanish Pronunciation Didactics and Practical Spanish Grammar. My students appreciate my ability to create a welcoming and engaging classroom atmosphere and my dedication to their language proficiency and cultural competence.
