About Angela

My journey into teaching Mandarin started from a simple belief: children should not be afraid of learning a language. I’ve met many children who feel stressed, shy, or discouraged when learning Mandarin—often because they’re pushed to memorize without understanding, or corrected too harshly when they make mistakes. That’s why I chose to teach differently. I want to help children see Mandarin as a friendly, usable language, not a subject to fear. When I teach, I focus on: • building confidence before accuracy • helping children understand meaning, not just repeat words • creating a calm, encouraging environment where mistakes are part of learning I enjoy working with young learners because every small improvement matters—whether it’s a child speaking their first full sentence, answering confidently in class, or simply feeling proud of themselves. My goal is not just to improve Mandarin results, but to help children develop a positive relationship with the language that will support them throughout their school years.

About the lesson

I specialise in nursery to primary Mandarin tutoring with a gentle, child-centred approach.
My lessons focus on confidence, understanding, and natural language use—not pressure or rote memorisation.
I adapt to each child’s learning style so Mandarin becomes something they feel comfortable and happy using.
