About Geoffrey
Besides my experience as a classroom teacher and longtime tutor, I have also designed curriculum, taught other teachers and, most relevant here, for three years I taught tutors how to tutor!

Over my twelve years in the classroom and fifteen as a tutor, I have employed the Socratic method to remarkable effect. I have taught and tutored students from all manner of backgrounds and starting points. What distinguishes me from other tutors is that I look at all subjects as interconnected, and I am able to breakdown difficult ideas without sacrificing the rigor necessary for good learning. What many educators have failed to understand is that the student must repeat the reasoning of the great idea or thinker with which or whom that student is engaged. The conclusions must be achieved by the student and not merely rote memorized for the sake of an examination.
My lessons and expertise lend themselves best to students from the beginning of high school to seniors in college.
