About Gillian
I'm Gillian (Gillie) I'm 50 (eek) but I don't feel it or act it. I'm pretty well qualified in the Chemistry field. I have an undergraduate degree, and 3 post graduate ones as well as being a chartered chemist and a fellow of the Royal society of Chemistry.
What's good about that is that I have covered a high percentage of the ways and means that Chemistry is used in the world. On top of that I have been teaching for 25 years and worked with the sqa so all the school stuff is covered too. It's highly unlikely that any chem based question could not be answered by me. I'm pretty good at pulhysics, bio and maths too!
I love to teach, I love to learn and I love to help pupils find that joy too.
I did physics and maths for 4 years during my university course and taught myself biochemistry to help with my drug synthesis and pharmacokinetics knowledge to continue to PhD level synthesising anti cancer drugs, however, Chemistry is my real passion.
People sometimes need Chemistry as a means to an A in the end eg. Get into medicine/veterinary or dentistry. Sometimes they want to just understand it to take it further (it's not the easiest subject), sometimes they just do NOT want to fail. Whatever your reason for needing a tutor, I will make your learning time useful, fun and develop new skills along the way.

My lessons are informative and fun. I am a vibrant person with a wealth of experience from Chemical Industry, PhD research in medicinal biochemistry and 25+ years teaching pupils ages 11 to 18. I constantly use my knowledge and experiences together to get to the root of learning issues and build a new foundation to develop confidence and learning skills.
I love to teach, I love to learn and I love to help pupils find that joy too.
