About Chris
I am very experienced, respected and motivated teacher and tutor who has worked a range of different schools and who has taught pupils from Nursery to Year 6, this experience has provided me with a excellent understanding of the Curriculum and the expectations needed to excel in all year groups. Additionally I have lead a good number of subjects in schools and been a member of a school`s senior management team, which has further enhanced my understanding of how to support pupils who encounter difficulties with aspects of their learning. Furthermore, for the past four years I have been a senior Year 6 SATS marker so I can provide lots of advice and expertise on the contents of tests and also test technique.

I strive to ensure the best possible practices are utilised in my tutoring sessions and also in my daily classroom practice to ensure optimum progression is made by all pupils: the results I achieved with the Year 6 classes I taught placing them in the top 5% in the country. I am passionate about teaching and in particular, engaging with children who need extra support to reach their full potential by creating tailored learning to support individual children I carefully plan my lessons so that they cater for all learning styles and also the interests of the pupils I am tutoring. I have high standards and pride myself in always putting maximum effort into everything I do. I aim to instill this ethos into the minds of the children; they are always told what is expected of them and they are encouraged to always do their best and be proud of their achievements. This has the lead to the children I have taught developing a love for learning and an understanding of how to excel in the world beyond the classroom The excellent standards of my class teaching were recognised by Ofsted on numerous occasions with children within my class being said to make ‘accelerated progress’.
