About Steven
I have seventeen successful years’ experience teaching within the secondary school sector which has seen me progress through to senior leadership. As a business and information technology graduate I began my career teaching within these specialisms. My background as an account reconciler within a large corporation coupled with my experience within the supermarket industry gave me the foundations to quickly rise through to management level within education. In my first year of teaching I led the ICT department, managed four staff and designed and delivered a new curriculum. After four years I became a faculty leader and was part of the senior leadership team. In this role I manged must larger teams; target setting, performance managing and holding staff to account.
Over the last few years, having changed school, I changed specialisms to lead and develop mathematics. I have continued to seek and embrace wider leadership roles and I am currently employed as an Assistant Headteacher. Having taken my career in a different direction within education I am now seeking an alternative professional path; one in which my skill set, knowledge and experience can be both utilised and challenged.
