About Claire
My name is Claire. I have been a primary school teacher for 25 years and I love helping children discover how fun and exciting learning can be. I’ve always enjoyed working with young people, and I became a tutor because I believe every child deserves the chance to feel confident and proud of what they can do and I know that for some children this doesn’t always happen in a busy classroom. Teaching lets me share my love of learning while supporting each child’s unique journey — whether that’s celebrating small successes, tackling tricky challenges together, or sparking curiosity in new ideas. My goal is to make learning something you look forward to, because when you feel supported and encouraged, you can achieve amazing things!

I believe every child learns best when they feel happy, supported, and understood. In my tutoring sessions, I take the time to really get to know each child – what excites them, where they might feel unsure, and how they learn best. From there, I create lessons that are fun, engaging, and built around their needs, whether that’s growing confidence in reading, strengthening number skills, or simply enjoying the process of learning. My aim is to make children feel proud of themselves, to show them that mistakes are part of learning, and to give them the tools to keep moving forward with confidence.
