About Cameron
I am committed to rendering the highest level of music education for my students. My methodology relies on transparent communication which enables us to set measurable, yet ambitious goals. Throughout the last 8 years, I have balanced a schedule as a college student, national touring act, clinician, recording artist and private educator, which has shaped a holistic approach to musicianship. Whether you are looking to fine-tune your technique, learn a new song, or understand the deeper registers of music theory, I will help you understand these concepts in their most simple terms. I have always kept extensive journals relating to my own progress on guitar. As I progressed further, and people showed interest in learning my methods, the step into full-time teaching seemed as organic as when I first picked up a guitar at 3 years old.
I hold a bachelor's degree in jazz performance from the University of Houston's Moores School of Music. In addition to my experience as a private lessons teacher and clinician, I have vast work history as a recording artist, bandleader, accompanist and composer. Should the student have questions or curiosities relating to the "business" of musicianship, I am open to giving professional guidance.

When a prospective reaches out, I first ask them to articulate what it is that they want to learn, as well as their expectations from me. This allows me to develop a lesson schedule, and plan, which is tailored to the needs and aspirations of the student.
I have worked with students of all skill levels. Due to the nature of my background as a bluegrass and folk guitarist, my students are often of mature ages.
I would advise the student to gauge the prospective teacher's receptiveness to their needs. This will provide a window into future dealings with that individual.

What is it that inspires you to pick up a guitar? Which learning methods work and don't work for you? How do you best manage accountability? Do you need a certain amount of time to digest new knowledge?
