Biography 2020

Tom has taught hundreds of guitar students and over 3000 college music class students. He was awarded outstanding adjunct professor in 2012, PBSC.

As a musician, composer and singer/songwriter in South Florida, Thomas Glenn Smith has a passion for the guitar in all its forms, guises and possibilities. Tom writes and sings multiple styles of songs while playing guitar, banjo and harmonica. Tom also specializes in Native American flute.

Tom has performed on TV, Radio and throughout South Florida and along the East Coast in shows, clubs and formal recitals.

His 2 CD set Imaginations for Guitar 1 & 2 explores the classical guitar boundaries with some banjo and slide guitar examples.

His recent CD Keep Up The Good Work explores the full range of the folk and Americana genre including spirituals, bluegrass/country, blues, Native American and whimsical views of life.

He is currently on the music faculty of Broward College in Davie, Fl. and Palm Beach State College in Boca Raton, Fl.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Arts in Music from FAU Boca Raton, Florida, with 3 years study at Berklee College of Music, Boston.

I enjoy helping students improve or helping students get started on a guitar banjo and uke. I believe in inspiring with kindness and giving students encouragement all along the way.

We will meet and discuss if you are a beginner or if you have played and we will proceed from your level. I will give my recommendations at this time. I will answer all the questions you may have. I am here to help with patience and guidance.

All ages and all levels, beginning to advanced are welcome.
