About Andy
I’ve been been a professional stage, film, and voice actor for 35 years, appearing in lead roles at The Kennedy Center, Ford's Theatre, American Century Theatre, and Folger Shakespeare Theatre. In Hollywood, I starred in a number of films for Syfy-Universal and I appeared as the Secretary of Labor on House Of Cards. I’ve done extensive voice acting for Graphic Audio Productions, and performed for 15 years with the political comedy troupe The Capitol Steps all across the U.S. and Off-Broadway.
AS AN ACTING COACH: When I started coaching actors on camera a few years back, I was surprised at how passionate I became about it. I teach both youth and adult actors, many of whom have signed with top agents from NY and LA as a result. I also provide Audition Self-Taping services, on-camera coaching, audition preparation, scene study, and career & industry consultations live and online.
I've taught Masterclasses in Acting and Auditioning for Film & Television, the Business of Acting, and How To Self-Tape For Auditions at The Actor's Center, Carroll County Community College, The Drama Learning Center, Adventure Theatre MTC, and The Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts.
I have a BFA degree in Acting from The Catholic University of America with a Hartke Theater Scholarship, and I’m a life-long member of the Screen Actor's Guild and Actor's Equity Association.
My favorite thing about teaching private lessons is that it’s all about that student! They get the whole hour to themselves and don’t have to share the time with anyone else. I love to watch a student go from a hesitant, artificial performance to a 100% real and natural one that is true to the actor’s own essence.
