About Leon
I am an actor with over 25 years experience on both stage and screen. I've appeared in over 30 plays and 25 films. I also created and wrote the digital comedy series 'Old Dogs & New Tricks' (2011-2016, Amazon Prime) and wrote about my experiences as a working actor in the memoir 'SUB-LEBRITY.'
Having studied acting for almost a decade before I got started, and having been on the other side of the audition table while producing ODNT (as well as two productions of the play Carved in Stone), I've seen some talented actors sabotage their chances with bad habits.
I don't subscribe to any one particular acting "method" or dogma. I will learn about how you like to work, and then help you develop your own technique.
I've produced, auditioned, directed. But this is my first time teaching, after having been told repeatedly that I should teach.
I studied acting for five years before I auditioned for my first role, and have continued studying off and on. Teachers include Mark Monroe Studies, Jean Shelton's Actors Lab and Cliff Osmond.

About the lesson

We'll get starting by getting to know each other. We'll discuss what you feel your strengths and weaknesses are as an actor, the type of work you'd like to be doing, what challenges you. We'll discuss YOUR acting method, and then begin with basic exercises. Where we go from there is up to you! Scene study? Audition technique? You tell me what you want to work on!
While I've not yet taught, I have acted with and worked with hundreds of actors over the past 25 years, also as a diretor and producer.
Finding a good teacher is like buying a house or a car. Ask lots of questions, and make sure its a perfect fit before you write that check!
In 2019, Indy Shorts, a Academy-Aaward accredited film festival in Indianapolis, honored "Old Dogs & New Tricks" with a gala screening and party. Since I'm from Indiana, it was beyond moving. It was an incredible evening.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
One of my pet peeves as a producer is, when an actor complains about something without also offering a solution or a different approach. So don't just complain about something without also offering a solution!
