About Robert
I have coached artists of all ages how to delve into their personal experience and enhance their performance and what they create.
For over 20 years I have been a New York-based writer & performer whose body of work includes acting, storytelling, traditional Broadway, avant-garde theatre, and slam poetry. I am the Artistic Director and a founding member of the performance collective, the New York Neo-Futurists. My original works have been performed at such theatres as The Ontological, P.S.122, and The Public Theater. I have taught a variety of performance and writing master classes around the country including at Brooklyn College, NYU, Hubbard Hall, Texas State, and URI. I studied at Grinnell College, LAMDA, iO Chicago, and the PIT in NYC, and have worked on a variety of commercials, TV shows, and independent films.
I enjoy helping students delve into what works best for them, make discoveries, and find the truth and joy in what they create.
I studied theater and performance at the National Theater Institute, the London Academy of Performance Art and Grinnell College.
I did improv at IO and the PIT, poetry at Grinnell and Louder Arts, sketch at the PIT and NY Neo-Futurists.
I trained on camera at Atlantic and the SAG Foundation.
