About Clark

Acting is my passion! I love the art of creation. For those who are passionate and you want to learn more in detail the skill of acting, and the method of bringing the character to life, I can teach you the procedure in which to do just that. I am patience and will work at your convenience. I taught at Beverly hills Recreation Center, Children's Theater at the YMCA in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the Theater at Ahiah Spiritual Living Center. I have been teaching for 3 years. I was nominated for best supporting actor (Broading House) Los Angeles Film Festival 2015). I was also nominated for best actor in a horror short film in Los Angeles Film Festival 2016. I enjoy my work because I bring out the best in that individual. You will be able to overcome whatever is holding them back. Whether it be fear of speaking in front of people, overcoming shyness, bringing out the talent you feel within, I have the patience to help bring it out. I don't place time limits on creative skills on any individual. Most of all I enjoy seeing a smile on the person's face when they have accomplished a break through from within.

I started out teaching acting in church, showcases for other actors, taking on actors who needed someone to coach them for audition here in L.A. Word of mouth from actors who liked my technique and approach. My teaching is Stanislavsky Method Acting. Word of mouth is the best approach to getting started, besides advertisements which I am doing now.

I've studied acting at University of Purdue, Indiana Repertory Theater, Hillside Cultural Center. Actors Showcase Theater. Actor Center International. Twelfth Night Repertory Theater and performing Children's Theater, for five years.

About the lesson

I give them cold reading, a script, monologue, improvisation techniques, to see what needs to be improved. What, or why they would like to be an actor or actress. What do you like about the arts of acting. How do you feel when you are acting.

I've worked with students from the age range of 10 up to 82. I prefer not to work with students under 10 unless they have the desire, and attention spam. I have worked with gifted students at the age of 8 who have the desire,and abilities, to work with, on rare occasions.

That the teacher have film experience, and stage experience, they have taught some kind of subject matter, whether it be education or theater. They have patience and the necessary skills to know the point of what a student can do, or bring about their most creative potential , and work with that, until it is developed, and the student is comfortable, before moving on.

I worked with group of children at a event who were afraid to stand or perform for anyone. After 2 or 3 month of working with them, they perform their first Christmas play in over 11 years at a church event. I was so proud of them, and from that event many other events in the church begin to take root.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Watch the teachers approach, when the teachers see's the individual's weak points in their acting abilities. How does the teacher handle the student, if the approach isn't resolve. The student will react from that approach, either the student will open up more creatively or will shut down.

Clark Long teaching technique is awesome! Since working with Clark, I have booked national commercials ; Dairy Queen , Samsung , Progressive just to name a few . And currently booked a huge stage play , this with just a couple hours , couple days of teaching, and requesting his help in minimal time before casting audition; This was my first audition for stage! Clarks coaching style of experienced technique married with individualized client connection , opened me up to not only recognize and acknowledge my skill and craft as an actor , but also how to become comfortable in it , which is the other half of the battle !
