My business stands out because I specialize in Teaching Stage Combat and I am a Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors. I also hold degrees in Acting and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art involving Acting, Performance Movement, Stage Combat. Every moment on stage whether with words or swords, is about connecting and sharing with your partner in the context of a scene. This energy exchange is wonderful to explore and exciting to tap into! Kinesthetic listening and physical intentions are the foundations of acting.

The connection and inspiration that comes from acting and performing can be some of the most enriching and honest exchanges we have. Telling stories in such a way brings them to life in unexpected ways. We may learn something about ourselves through the telling.

I have been teaching and acting for many years. In 8th grade I was Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady.

About the lesson

First would be to understand voice and pronunciation. Then some breathing and relaxation. Then physical stretching. And then a bit of Shakespeare!

I am a classically trained actor and advanced stage combat practitioner. Theatre and movement go hand in hand. It is exciting but only with discipline and work. Memorization is a skill like any other.

I am a classically trained actor and an advanced stage combat practitioner and choreographer. With degrees and practical experience to back me up. I understand many aspects of theatre and performance. Always ask for a teachers credentials and remember that these teachers work for you! If you need to understand something it is their job to explain it to you. Be prepared to work hard and develop a work ethic. Never shirk the foundation of fundamentals nor allow anyone to tell you it's easy. Embrace and absorb Shakespeare.

The more specific you can be about what inspires you in the context of theatre, the easier it will be to tailor a lesson plan.
