About Emily
I am extremely passionate about teaching. As a junior in high school, I started my school's first tutoring center, which mainly focused on helping high school students with their English papers and other English-related work. Even now in my absence, this tutoring center is still alive and well. As a senior in high school, I earned an award for Excellence in English because of my passion and dedication to literature and writing. For two years, I tutored a middle school girl weekly in all subjects, including math, science, history, and English. I also have volunteered extensively at a duel-language school teaching kindergardeners how to read English. Last summer, I taught a sixth grade boy Pre-Algebra, which allowed him to skip a grade. During high school, I played a key role in my school's all-girls robotics team, which taught me not only a great deal about math and science but also what it means to be a leader and educator.
Though I am only a sophomore in college, I already have a great deal of experience tutoring all ages. As a tutor, I focus on not only teaching the material at hand but also fostering my students' confidence in their own abilities.
