About Eva

I majored in the Chinese language while I was at university. I have tutored multiple students in the past in the Chinese language and in the math department. A majority of my students achieved well beyond the 85 percentile in the Chinese language due to my help and I am willing to help you achieve whatever goals you may have.

Most people will tend to describe me as a very optimistic and outgoing person so I will try my very best to answer all the questions you may have!

I enjoy seeing students making progress. It demonstrates that I am doing my job in helping them achieve their goals. I really enjoy working with students overall because seeing my hard work put into place makes me feel like I have a useful position in their learning career.

From a young age, I knew I wanted to go into teaching but just wasn't sure what subject in particular. When I was in university, I started volunteering for my Chinese professor because he told me how many of his students needed help. Then I guess that laid the foundation of where I am today.

I have tutored multiple students in the past 1.5 years while also majoring in the language myself. I have struggled through what they are struggling so I completely understand and try to make myself as helpful as I can be.

About the lesson

I try to see what they understand first before going into helping them. This gives me a foundation of the level or progress at which they are at. After this is discussed, we review some problems that are similar to what they have know/harder ones. Then go into deeper understanding of everything else.

I am non-discrimatory of any race, color, or ethnicity so I enjoy working with students of any type. I have worked with mainly foreign students who are beginning to learn the basics of Chinese along with level 2 Chinese.

Be open. Be optimistic. If some educators may seem scary, they only want the best for you. Teachers are there to help guide you, not scare you.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
- Why am I having a problem with this subject? In particular, this area of the subject.
- What can I do outside of school to increase my chances of achieving better grades?
- If this doesn't work, should I ask other classmates to see if they're having the same issue?

Since I am fresh out of college, I do not require much for my lessons. I like to start at the base price of $30/hour then see the progress from there.
