About Marcie
I offer strategic, structured, systematic, yet simple solutions to educational and organizational concerns. I have a current California Professional Clear Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential and have been actively credentialed and teaching/tutoring since 1993. I serve students from pre-school through adult learners; assisting with basic concepts, critical thinking, writing, reading, language development, mathematics, as well as curriculum, lessons, GED prep, and organizational tasks.
I absolutely love working with a wide variety of ages and skill levels. It is energizing to simplify tasks, detail processes, organize and structure the learning environment to each student's needs, provide tools for memorization of facts, and engage students in activities and reference visuals for concrete learning. It's a privilege to see improvement in student's understanding of basic concepts and higher level thinking skills, watch their confidence increase, and observe the satisfaction they receive from higher grades.

It is important to me to assess the needs of the student. Prior to meeting, I like to speak to the parent of the student and/or the student themself; asking questions and taking notes on the areas we need to focus on during our lessons. During our first session I take time to listen to concerns, provide time for feedback, and use a variety of materials to better assess the current needs and the best methods to convey information.
