About Justin

Hello! My name is Justin, and I am a dedicated tutor with a strong academic and professional background in chemical engineering. I am currently a PhD candidate at Tshwane University of Technology, holding both a Bachelor of Technology and a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering. I have over five years of experience in teaching and tutoring, including roles as a Teaching Assistant for both Chemical Engineering and Technical Mathematics at a university level. Beyond academia, my experience as a Plant Shift Supervisor has given me a practical, real-world understanding of complex systems, which allows me to provide unique insights into the subjects I teach. My tutoring approach is built on a foundation of professionalism, patience, and a genuine desire to see my students succeed. I specialize in making challenging subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry accessible and engaging. I believe in fostering critical thinking and equipping you with the problem-solving skills needed to excel, not just in class, but beyond. I am fluent in both English and French, and I am committed to creating a supportive learning environment where you can feel confident and motivated. Whether you need help grasping a difficult concept, preparing for an exam, or just building your confidence, I am here to guide you toward your academic goals.

My Approach to Tutoring
My methodology is centered on demystifying complex concepts and building a strong foundation for long-term understanding. As a Chemical Engineering PhD candidate with hands-on industrial experience, I don't just teach the theory; I connect it to real-world applications. This unique perspective allows me to make subjects like mathematics and physical sciences feel relevant and less intimidating.

What makes me unique is my problem-solving framework. I guide students through a structured process to tackle challenging problems, encouraging them to think critically rather than just memorizing formulas. My teaching style is patient and supportive, focusing on building a student's confidence alongside their academic skills.

I am proficient and can teach fluently in both English and French.

What to Expect from My Lessons
A typical lesson with me is interactive and personalized. We'll start by reviewing key concepts and any challenges from previous sessions. From there, we will work through practice problems together, with me acting as a guide rather than just providing answers. My goal is to equip you with the tools to solve problems on your own. We will also explore the practical applications of the subject matter, using real-world examples to make the learning process more engaging and memorable.

Who My Lessons are For
My lessons are aimed at high school and university students who are taking subjects in mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Whether you're struggling to grasp foundational concepts, aiming to improve your grades, or preparing for a specific exam, my structured approach can help. I am particularly effective with students who benefit from a patient mentor who can bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
