About Flight

A fixture in Minnesota aviation for over 60 years, Thunderbird Aviation has training locations at Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie and Crystal Airport in Crystal.

With a dedicated Certified Flight Instructor staff and the ability to fly seven-days-a-week, Thunderbird makes your flight training schedule work for you. Open 365-days-a-year, we cater to recreational students and students who want to earn their ratings to fly at the airlines. Design how many times you want to fly each week and we can accomodate it!

We've been around a long time!

We have Single-Engine and Multi-Engine plans for training, with a dedicated staff of Certified Flight Instructors with CFI, CFII, and MEI Ratings.

About the lesson

We'll have you come into the airport, talk through your goals and what your schedule looks like, and get you up in the air!

All of them! Whether you are a recreational student or training for the airlines, we will accomodate you!

No aviation experience necessary! Come into Thunderbird and we'll have you flying in no time at all.

Every day we get to flight train!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is your goal in flying? How often do you want to fly? What is your budget? What do you need from an instructor?

Thunderbird Aviation is a great place to do flight training! The instructors are top-of-the-line, scheduling is easy, staff is friendly and great to work with, and they have great training aircraft. The onsite maintenance staff are awesome, and they're always willing to answer any questions students might have.
