About Alphonso

I played high school and small college baseball. I currently coach 13U baseball for Bowie Boys and Girls Club. Our team was undefeated in the spring won 16 games including the championship in the Anne Arundel League. I have been coaching for 10 years. I have coached for PG Select and Babe Ruth League as well. My players have developed consistently over the years. I coach everything including hitting, infield, outfield, pitching and catching. I have a pitching machine to give your child more reps in the cage and fielding.

I love seeing my players develop and go from beginner to advanced in different skills. It makes me feel good to know I was apart of the process to get them to the next level.

I started through coaching teams and realizing that the players that were passionate and wanted to get better needed more time outside of practices.

I hold a doctorate in business and teach. I also have taken several coaching clinics on baseball techniques and concussions.

About the lesson

I will assess their skills provide my own evaluation to the parents. We will work on all the players skills or just the ones the player needs work on. I will then have a meeting with parents and player to develop a plan for improving skills.

Players 6-18

I have coached 6-8, 8-9, 11u, 12u, and 16-18 yr old teams.

Perfect! Coach Simmons is an excellent instructor. He has knack for keeping my son’s attention all throughout the lesson. Nothing seems mundane or laborious when it comes to the drills. They all pertain to a skill that can be used on the baseball diamond. Coach Simmons’ knowledge of the game, and ability to teach it, shine through with every lesson. If you want your child to get top notch training you should definitely consider lessons with Coach Simmons.
