About Kenneth & Marsha

As the date for my husband's retirement grew closer, we both wanted to do something together, something that we both could do and that we enjoyed doing. Kenneth's background was in emergency care and over the years I too became interested, so becoming First Responders and BLS Instructors was a perfect fit for both of us.

Kenneth is a retired Firefighter/Paramedic of 37 years, taught EMT/EMR classes for 13 years, taught BLS and Heart Saver classes for 46 years, and we both are First Responder for our local fire department since 2005. I started teaching BLS and the Heart Saver classes in 2005 and I have also taught EMR classes.

Our students have been day care workers, health care professionals, firefighters, policemen, industrial and construction workers, logging companies, electrical companies, and several manufacturing companies.

Look for someone who has done this for many years, has experience in this area, who will teach according to the American Heart Association guidelines and not take any type of short cut in teaching.

One of our students from a Heart Saver class came to us a week after he had attended our class and shared with us an event that had happened to him the day after he had our class. He had gone to his family reunion and when he arrived, there was a camotiom at the swimming pool. Someone told him his nephew was at the bottom of the pool and no one was doing anything. He jumped into the pool and retrieved his nephew. After getting the boy on to a hard, flat surface, he began CPR. After the medical team arrived and treated the boy, they told the man that if it had not been for him, the boy would have not have made it. The man was very grateful that he had been in our class and learned what to do for someone drowning.
