About Juel

I am a student myself, so I understand what students these days need. Many teachers use ‘boring’ techniques or restrictions in the class rooms that don’t allow individual students to learn the way they need to. I want to change that, I want to make learning fun and enjoyable so it will stick. I believe I can help students because I have Honor Roll, the highest average in earth science for my school, very high passing scores on my state tests, and even letters for me about my very high grades from The Senate Of Virginia and The Virginia House of Delegates. This would be my first year tutoring, but I have plenty of experience with kids. Other than watching kids in my family, I have a lot of babysitting experience, kids ages ranging from 5 to 12, so I have a good idea on how to engage kids in activities.

this is where I’m starting. I decided I needed a summer job and I went through all my possibilities before I found tutoring, I figured tutoring would be a perfect fit since I often help my fellow class mates and tutor them. I do very well in school and I just want to make sure that learning is a fun experience for everyone. I’m lucky to have teachers who make learning exciting but not all kids do, so I’ll be the fun “teacher” for them.

So far I have some high school, but my grades, accomplishments, and awards show that just because I’m still in school doesn’t mean I can’t do it. I do have experience with children ages 5-12, I babysit.

I am new to this but I already have an idea on how I’d like to plan things out. My first session should be with the parent/legal guardian so I may learn about the child, what they are having a problem with, and things of that nature. Next will be to have a talk with the child, so I may see what activities they would like to try that sounds fun to them that they think will help them engage better. If a student is having fun, I believe they learn better. I’ll also ask about interests and things like that too, the sessions where I talk to the parent and student will be at no cost. After that, I will plan out lessons specific to the child and get in contact with the parent on days I am available. And after all that, the lessons will start and improvement in your child will begin.

I personally work with other students in my classes at school, ages 14-16, but I also babysit, so I work with kids ages 5-12 often.

Talk with the teacher before you make any plan to learn from them, make sure that the way they teach fits your learning style, and look into these people’s background and profiles.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
what ways do I like to learn? What are things that interest me that could be incorporated into work I do? What are things I struggle with? What are things I don’t need to go over? What’s my learning style? Do I enjoy a more quiet learning experience or a more creative one? What will work for me, not just let me goof off? Why did I not get the information in the first place?

I believe in letting the parent/legal guardian choose a fair price for them. Not everyone can afford a ton of money for their child to get tutored and I understand that completely. Pricing is going to be fair to everyone, you may want to do by hour, by day, or even just pay an amount by the end of the week. Whatever works for you will work for me.
