About Astheris
Hello, I am Asthéris Miller, and I am currently a Human Rights and Diversity at Young Harris College. As a product of my studies, I specialise in philosophy, history, linguistics and literature. Additionally, I studied Health Promotion and Epidemiology at the University of Otago in New Zealand, and I have a competent understanding of public policy.
I am a wedding photographer and graphic designer in my free time and I take my work very seriously. I wrestled in high school and I practice Judo. I also am an endurance equestrian. I have acted in universities plays as well as being an audio technician for the theatre department.

I am thrilled when a pupil realises they full understand a concept without my intervention. At that point, I know that I am truly helping the student learn and not simply memorising the subject. There is no greater reward to me than helping another obtain more knowledge.
It happened by accident, one day I was talking with a friend about vowel harmony and a parent asked if I could tutor her son in English.
When I lived in New Zealand and New Caledonia, I tutored English for six months at University of Otago. And, I am currently a French TA and philosophy tutor at Young Harris College.

I always introduce myself, then I will typically gauge how the student prefers to learn and what their favourite subjects are. After this, we would delve into the subject in need of improvement.
I typically work with teens and adults, but I worked a Falling Creek Camp during the summer so now I have more experience helping younger pupils learn.
Just to be open to different ways of teaching and to find the best tecaher for them, not just the one with the most accolades.
I recently photographed a wedding in Ellijay and I was asked to participate in one section of the dance, which made me feel truly involved in the reception.
