About Benjamin

From the time I was in high school, I have been training and coaching younger age groups through my former AAU programs. When I was in high school, I was still very young and my experience was more or less about learning from my former coaches as opposed to actually being the one training the kids. After years of gaining knowledge from some great basketball minds, I was able to apply these training styles to my own game, and my performance on the court drastically improved. That massive leap that I took from high school to college is what made me want to help others progress the same way I did.

After my time at Misericordia, I plan on attending graduate school for Sports and Performance Psychology, where I will also hope to be a graduate assistant on the basketball team. I have several programs that I am considering, but priority number one right now is finsihing these next two years at Misericordia, while being the best student and player I can be.

About the lesson

The first step is learning about the student. It's important to know about the students skills and weaknesses on the court, however, it's just as important as understanding the student as a person. It's impossible to get someone to give it their best without understanding what motivates them, what inspires them, and how to get the best out of them. Once I understand a little bit more about the student, I then design a workout plan that suits their strengths and weaknesses as well as their goals. These workouts can consist of various drills that I have learned from many different coaches throughout my career, and some drills I have even taken from players at the professional level.
