About Shane
Pi Squared Training stands for Passion, Intensity and Integrity. They are the core values I bring as a basketball trainer and will instill into your developing athlete. I have 30 years playing experience and 3 years of coaching youth teams. I am also a Marine Corp Vet who will bring dedication and discipline to our training sessions to prepare your young baller not only improve their skills but to gain self-confidence on and off the court.
Being able to help young athletes develop core skills is what I enjoy. I didn't have someone to show me the way when I was growing up, so I had to teach myself a lot, which takes time and a lot of energy. Therefore, being able to pass on my knowledge and accelarate your atheletes development is essential to why I wanted to be a trainer.
I started teaching because I want to give back the knowledge I've gained over the years and because I never had someone like me to train with when I was a young developing player.
My basketball education is a mix of learning from better competition I've played against over the years, to being formally coached on teams from CYO to college level, and my training regiment is a direct reflection of my experience training in the Marine Corp. Trainees can expect to be pushed to their limits and beyond.

I will review a new student's current skill level through shooting and dribbling drills to determine what type of training will be needed and at what level of intensity they should expect. I will also begin keeping track of their progress in a shared journal so they can see how they are improving week by week.
I've worked with players of varying ages and different skill levels. There's always something new you can learn or improve.
Training is about building trust and expectations both for yourself and from your trainer. Be sure to set realistic goals and expectations from the beginning and ask that your trainer provide a way to track your progress. This way you can assess whether you are improving and if its worth continuing to work with a particular trainer.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about your short and long term goals and ask how the trainer can help you accomplish both.

Perfect! Pi Squared Training has really helped me develop my skills very quick. Even though I’m 38 years old and learning later in life, it is great to have someone like Shane to teach me how to practice and pay attention to the details so I can adjust and build my fundamentals. He is passionate about basketball and imparting his knowledge on to his trainees, and he will give you a workout at the same time. I look forward to continuing to train with Pi Squared and you should too!

So we just started with Pi Squared training and it's amazing. We are going to continue with Shane for a long time. He is a great teacher. Very through. He has a vast knowledge of what he is doing. I highly recommend Shane. Shenale ( student) has seen so much progress within just two weeks. Shane works with your child effectively, there every step of the way. If you need training, he's the guy.
