About Derrian

My name is derrian bell former college player. My passion for the game of basketball started when I was 5 years old I picked up a ball and I never looked back. I started to see individual success once I got to high school, helping lead my team to states as the starting point guard. Also I got a scholarship to play for the#1 junior college nation at time chipola college. Won a state title my freshman year then I transferred to another junior college in tampa Florida helping Lead them to a state tournament appearance. I always knew I wanted to be around the game giving back in some way. I have been training, coaching camps for former nba player Kenny smith, for the past 5 years. I am now coaching at north Tampa Christian as a assistant & im also coaching travel ball. It's extremely exciting to me to see kids develop. As a coach/trainer I like to bring the best out of my kids, but I also know I have to learn each kid first. I give kids a 10 question quiz to gage which direction I should start with. Really excites me to see how kids think the game out being basketball is 60% mental.

I enjoy seeing the process of kids developing after investing the time & energy into there craft. Basketball is just as mental as it is physical, so seeing each individual build confidence during each training session is a feeling I wouldn't trade for the world. Love & passion

After coaching large basketball camps for years I knew that this is was where my heart was, the energy & passion it just comes out naturally when I'm teaching.

I have high level playing experience, and over 5 years of training.

I like to give each new student a 10 question quiz to gage where to start. I thrive in bringing the best out of each kid so I have to learn how he or she thinks first. After we will go through fundamentals to see where he/she is at physically. It is very important to start with the basics for me.

I've work with students from ages 8-15

Always look for the small details never the hype. Details is what is going to get you far in life.

My travel basketball team has won several tournaments, while playing in different states. Extremely proud of them!
