About Roland
My name is Roland Lyles i grew up in a family of 6 sister and 5 brothers. All my life i had to compete to see who was the best at sports. So my competitive nature drove me to playing high school basketball where me and my team made it to the final four. After high school i played D2 college basketball for Virginia union university. Unfortunately i didnt make it to the nba but my main goal besides school work is to have all my kids focused on a goal of making it pro one day.
I got started teaching through a friend who introduced me to an AAU coach that gave me an opportunity to coach one of his boys and girls club team which i loved. My kids were great
I have played high school and college basketball i also have 2 sons thats i work with consistantly and one of them play for AAU

About the lesson

Begin with stretching and excercise for 10 to 15 minutes. My main focus dealing with a new student is to work on trust between me and him. My main focus also is to build even more confidence in my players.
Mondays is layup drills ball handling drills and passing drills.
Tuesdays are jumpshot drills freethrow drills and also rebounding drills
Wednesdays are straight defense drills and closing out on jump shooters the proper way
Thursdays are post scoring layup drills and also one on ones
Fridays are 5 on 5 practice
So far ive worked with 5th grade down.
My advice would be to feel the teacher out because you dont want a teacher thats yelling at you more than he is helping you
