About Manna
Hi! I'm a lover of science and have worked in the science and environmental field for the majority of my career. I specialize in outdoor education of all subjects and have taught all kinds of learners. I can easily adapt content in a way that makes it more understandable to you. I studied Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan and have a Master's degree from NYU in Environmental Conservation Education.
I love to learn and continue to learn about our natural world. I find it amazing and wonderful and I want others to be just as enthusiastic. I love to go running, hiking, and camping outside and seeing nature first hand. Everything can be tied back to science and I believe everyone can be a steward of their outdoor environment.
I've been an environmental educator for the past 8 years in New York City. I've taught for school programs for grades 1st-8th, and also have taught a high school internship. Every summer, I oversee paid high school interns that work with us and also conduct teacher workshops. I have taught for regular general education classes, special education classes, and also ELL classes as well. My main demographic of students I worked with were minority students with many being immigrants or first generation Americans such as myself.

I like to determine where their current base knowledge is at, and like to work off from there. I like to ask questions to figure out how they learn the best and what has worked or has not worked in the past. I'm also interested in why students aren't able to excel at the school they attend and what challenges they face from learning.
