About John

I love working with others and teaching others about the subjects I find interesting. I'm a student working towards my bachelor's in Exercise Science with a focus in Pre-Physical Therapy. I love learning about Anatomy, Biology, and Kinesiology. I'm confident I can help others learn these topics as well. I received my Associate of Arts in 2021 and I graduated with honors. I have taken a Biochemistry series, a Microbiology course, three Anatomy and Physiology courses, and I'm currently in my second Kinesiology course.

I enjoy learning more about Anatomy, Biology, and Kinesiology. Additionally, I think I learn more about these topics each time I help others learn it.

This is my first time teaching, but I know that teaching others is a great way to reinforce the knowledge I have on the subjects I would like to teach. Additionally, I'm still in school and learning more information each day. All of the information I have learned is fresh in my mind and readily accessible.

This is my first time going tutoring others, but whenever I teach others about topics they are struggling with I make sure to give them time to ask any questions they may have. I also plan on using plenty of pictures, diagrams, and labeled examples to help make the subject matter easier to process.

I haven't worked with any other students, but I am always ready to help out any classmates struggling with understanding a topic.

With the topics I'd be teaching, there are a lot of concepts that can be very confusing. It's crucial that the tutor has a good understanding of these concepts because they form the foundation of other higher-level courses. It's also just as important that the teacher not only enjoys what they're teaching but that the student finds it enjoyable to learn with them as well.

One recent event that I find very memorable is when I was given the opportunity to explain to a patient why they were experiencing the pain that they had. I was job shadowing a physical therapist, and under their supervision, I was able to give my explanation to the patient. At that moment I learned that not everyone will have my understanding of the topic I'm explaining, but I can explain things in a way that is easily understandable. I hope that I can teach others the information I know so that one day they can experience something like them themselves.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about what sort of career or courses you plan on being involved with in the future. There are usually concepts in the subjects I'll be teaching that can apply to certain things in each field. Also, think about what you want to get out of tutoring, whether that's something specific that you don't quite understand or if you simply just want to expand your knowledge.
