About Kathia
I have 10 years of tutoring experience, and 3 years of professional teaching experience in math and science. I have a B.S. degree in human biology from UC San Diego, a master of science in education, and a teaching credential in biological sciences. I am very confident in teaching math and science content, but I also carry many teaching tools and strategies to ensure my students can thrive in any learning environment.
I enjoy teaching students to become independent learners who can take control of their own learning experiences by developing their own questions, researching, and using critical thinking skills.
I have a bachelor's of science in human biology, and a single subject teaching credential in biological sciences. I have taught college prep and honors biology to 9th graders, and I taught 8th grade physical science. Before I started my teaching career I was a math and science tutor for 7-12th grade students.
