We need to define the intent of the tutorial session at the start. Before we finalize the date and duration I must understand what the student expects to achieve at the end of the session. The student should describe briefly in one or two sentences the objective of the session and send it to me.
Be clear about what you want to achieve. The teacher is there to steer you onto a better path but can't take you to the next stage. You need to know where you're going.

Details
The rate can vary between $15-$30/hr. It depends on the material and the student. For example, if it is as simple as reviewing and conceptualizing a topic in a different way to make it easier to understand then the rate is lower. But if it is more specific to test prep that requires going over many topics then the rate is higher.
