About Vanessa

Hello! I am a PhD Student at Cornell University looking for a part-time tutoring job for students in Middle School, High School, and College. I am a scientist by training, and can provide unique and highly knowledgable insight on scientific and mathematic topics. I have previous experience tutoring mathematics, biological sciences, and SAT/ACT Math and Science, and High School/College app essay prep.

Believe it or not, I recieved a lot of tutoring when I was still a student, which helped propel me to the position I am at today. I value the importance of hightening our next generation to their highest potential!

I started tutoring after college when I was working as a research technician at Columbia University, and have been tutoring since!

I am currently studying for a PhD in Neurobiolog and Biochemistry at Cornell University. I have a B.S. in Neuroscience from Emory University, and a 33 ACT score and 5 AP scores in various subjects.

About the lesson

I usually use the first session to asses their skills with a question set, and then formalize a plan for topics to review and strategies to practice depending on what they are looking to improve.

I have mostly worked with high school level or college level students.
