About Tess

I've been tutoring online for about one year, and it has been one of the best decisions I have made. I have always loved learning, especially about things I'm passionate about. One of my great joys in life is teaching others to love them too!

My favorite subject has always been science, especially biology. This led me to get my BA in Organismal Biology and Ecology at Colorado College. Unfortunately or fortunately, I also fell in love with neuroscience along the way and took enough classes to double major in that. Then, I decided I wanted to become a doctor and finished my pre med classes just in time to graduate! My slight insanity in undergrad has allowed me to have a broad scientific background, with real life experience in ecological research and healthcare. I have worked as an EMT in an emergency department, so I have great stories about most things anatomy related. I now am now working on a Masters in Molecular Bioengineering.

About the lesson

I like to get to know a person before (and while) working with them. I ask a lot of questions, but ultimately want to have a conversation! I like to encourage thinking rather than giving answers, and it's easier to share unsure thoughts with a friendly face rather than a stranger.
