About Robert
Degreed, performing cellist and bassist who has been giving private music lessons since 1992. Currently performing with the Illinois Symphony, Heartland Festival Orchestra, and traveling bluegrass gospel band New Legacy. 7 years teaching in a youth orchestra.
I am best at helping students stay with their music for many years. Many styles covered. Patience is always shown as well as taught during lessons since not all music skills are easy.
Bachelor's degree in music performance-cello. Minor in bass. I have worked with orchestra teachers from elementary school through professional levels for over 40 years.

Meet student. Evaluate the instrument. Talk about repeatable practice time. Go over unpacking the instrument, bow tightening and loosening. Discuss and demonstrate sitting/standing posture and where to place hands. Everyone gets something to play from the first lesson.
