About Elizabeth

I am an award winning, retired university cello professor. You can see information about my teaching on the website, (concealed information) I now maintain a private studio in Niwot, Co and specialize in working with adult students. I offer a free lesson to talk about my teaching, and what I can offer each student.

I began working as a professional cellist when I was 15 years old, and have dedicated my life to cello performance and teaching cello.

I am professor emerita from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have a masters degree in fine arts, and a doctoral degree in cello performance.

About the lesson

I teach to the needs of the student, balancing developing technique and developing musicianship.

Primarily high school, college, and adult.

Try to have a realistic idea of how much you can contribute to your learning. Will you have time to do practice in order to incorporate the suggestions the teacher is making.? Be honest with yourself and the teacher about how much time you can commit to the process. it’s important for all parties to have a reasonable expectation of the working relationship.
