About Ying
Passing on the knowledge I have learned over decades and helping students to understand better and getting higher grades gives me satisfactory and joy!
I have Ph.D in Analytical Chemsitry from Michigan State University, and I have taught Chemistry for numerous years, tutored many students. I can defintely help students to improve and achieve their goals in the topic.
I had some time not having a full time job when my children were young, so I started tutoring.

I first give a free lesson. One part of it will be getting to where the students at. Another part is to give him or her an overview what he or she will be learning in the coming year or two depending which grade he or she is in. This way I also give the student a chance to assess whether he or she feels comfortable to go further with me.
High school students who were on AP, IB programs.
During th efirst lesson, assess whether you have good chemistry and communicaiton. Be a bit more demaining, especiallly when you feel that you are not making progress, or not understand what the tutor was teaching.
When this recent student came with no idea how we are going to work together, I gave him a very good overview of chemsitry for his coming two years and check what he has learned and hasn't learned for the first lesson, and for the second lesson, he gets a past paper test for what he is learning at the moment, and going through his mistakes. That was really good for him, I could see that he liked it very much!
