About Onnah

I am a younger retired physician. My undergraduate majors were chemistry, biology, and anthropology. I am published in genetics. I have done research with inorganic chemistry. I have tutored for over three years in organic chemistry. I am also competent in anything falling under human anatomy, physiology, pathology, diagnostics, and treatment.

Science is rad. Simple.

I started tutoring general chemistry, biology, genetics, organic chemistry, in organic chemistry, bio chemistry, anthropology, physical anthropology, physical chemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, and various other scientific subjects during my undergraduate studies. During residency, I was chief resident.

I have a bachelors of science in biology, chemistry, and anthropology. I am a younger, retired medical physician.  I initially started training in psychiatry during medical school and then entered in neurosurgery residency for a couple years. I then switched specialties to primary care. I practiced for six years before leaving the field.

I prefer to meet on a one on one basis and get to know each other initially. I also would prefer to  evaluate what level or where their comprehension is at within the subject. Generally, I will try to develop a tutoring plan with their direct input.

Ensure the person is someone you're able to work with openly, without reservation. If one is not comfortable, one may feel embarrassed or inhibited from sharing certain information. In such a power  differential, that is problematic. It's essential to be comfortable with someone who is teaching you on an one on one basis.  Also, ensure the tutor treats you respectfully and in no way is condescending.  Just because they know more than you or understand something better than you in a subject, does not mean they are better than you.

Reconnecting with people that I care about, but I've lost touch with previously.

Offhand, no, I believe that charging by the hour is appropriate. Incremental charging or prorating is also appropriate. I am price negotiable, given the situation and the individual needs.

If travel distance is greater than 40 miles, this must be integrated into the pricing.
