About Eric
Effective Chinese takes a simple approach to learning. We introduce the language incrementally so you learn steadily without being overwhelmed. You participate in activities that make the language easier to understand and harder to forget. And our online, mobile accessible materials allow you to keep learning between classes. We have been offering classes in Portland for over 10 years, and have a variety of teachers from all parts of China.
I have been teaching Mandarin for 10 years. Having worked in China for 5 years and having taken numerous classes in China and the US, I started a school 10 years ago and designed the curriculum and materials with the help of a credentialed Chinese teacher. I have personally taught approximately 300 students over the past 10 years.
