About Maria
Hello, potential students and parents! My name is Masha, and I am a dedicated tutor specializing in Computer Programming languages like C++, Python, and C, Mathematics, and Russian. I am a proud alumni of Letovo, an esteemed international school in Russia, and currently a second-year Computer Science student at UCLA, ranked the #1 public university in the US.
My tutoring journey has not just been about imparting knowledge, but also learning from my students. This began when I taught Python programming to children battling cancer with the UchimZnaem initiative, a unique experience that deeply moved and inspired me. I have also served as a Programming Instructor for Python Club, where I was entrusted to teach 16 students from the USA and Russia, and even coordinated the work of teaching assistants. Moreover, I have been a Tutor and Project Manager at Letovo School, guiding students' project development and preparing them for IT contests.
One of the key strengths I bring to my tutoring is patience. I firmly believe in ensuring complete understanding before proceeding to new topics. This involves probing questions, practical exercises, and occasional revisits to previous topics to reinforce learning. I adapt my teaching approach to cater to the unique learning style of each student, recognising that everyone's path to understanding is different.
Perhaps my most significant attribute is my passion for teaching and the joy I derive from imparting knowledge to others. I am an enthusiastic tutor, skilled at connecting with everyone from shy introverts to dynamic extroverts, ensuring a comfortable learning environment that suits each individual.
