About
I have a PhD in computer science from Louisiana State University, and over 30 years of experience practicing software engineering and software development across multiple industries.
I want to bring my experience and love of languages, of programming, logic, systems and design to students who want to develop these skills and join the workforce of the 21st century. My first language is C++ and my first professional project was to develop a C++ compiler. Since then I've developed great experience in language design and the basics of any programming language, including HTML, SQL, C, Perl, Python, Java, Javascript and how they play a role in technology and applications.
I enjoy test-driven development and teach students to develop skills and employ skills through a method of testing and discovering weak concepts and areas of interest. When something is fun to do, the student learns it better and develops proficiency in that area.
In addition to teaching, mentoring, coaching and putting a student on a career path is deeply fulfilling and satisfying to me as a professional. It is my contribution to the industry.
