About Lillian

Vegan chef, vegan lifestyle coach, and vegan cooking instructor from Sydney, Australia who spent 30 years living and working in Japan, where I was inspired to cook with fresh produce when the ingredients are at their peak in flavor.

Vegan since 2010. Vegetarian since childhood, I have been teaching vegan cooking classes since 2007 to realize there are no limits to delicious plant-based food. My dedication to cooking has lead me on a path to creating beautiful food and teaching others how to thrive on a plant-based diet.

So excited to share my new show about veganism and the plant-based diet called, “Lillian’s Vegan World.” Broadcast LIVE every second Friday from the ThinkTech Hawaii studio in Downtown Honolulu. You can watch each episode on their YouTube channel.

Lot’s of tips, nutritional information, interviews with people on the plant-based diet for inspiration and others who are not, but are interested in reducing their animal product intake or improve their overall health and well-being.

I talk also talk about the many awesome plant-based products out there that are great substitutes for meat and other animals products.

I owned a Cocktail Bar and worked as the head chef and manager of the venue in Japan from 2000-2010 which sold high end 7-Course Vegetarian dinners. It was the start of my culinary career and from then I have been hired as a private chef, consultant, appeared on tv in Japan, and since moving to Honolulu also teach cooking demos at Down To Earth and have my own show with ThinkTech Hawaii called Lillian’s Vegan World where I talk about veganism and the plant-based diet.

20+ years working as a vegan chef in Japan and now currently Hawaii.

About the lesson

Making sure the students set goals that I can help them achieve be it through cleaning up their diet and teaching them how to make healthier choices, learning how to cook delicious plant-based food, and helping them reach their goals and improving their overall health and well-being.

How exciting it was to be featured as the cover story in Star Advertiser‘s CRAVE magazine on June 26, 2019. Food editor Joleen Oshiro wrote a wonderful four page article that includes some background into life in Japan and how it urged me to create my own cheese recipes. A really great read!

The article headline reads, “Say “cheese” but don’t say dairy.” The subtitle very humbling says, “Vegan chef Lillian Cumic is a cheese whiz, the master of an easy method that begins with raw cashews.”

“Lillian Cumic‘s cheeses begin with ground cashews. The dish in front is made with chocolate and chili; in back is a beetroot and sunflower seed version.”

Ever tried Vegan Chocolate Cheese before? I’m guessing not beca it doesn’t really exist unless you make it yourself. Take one of my cooking classes and learn how to make some of these delicious cheeses you won’t find in a supermarket.
