About Daniel
Japanese cuisine and fish preparation can seem complex. But with the right tutelage it can be approached with a easier understanding. Students will develop a understanding for Japanese ingredients, flavor, and preparation. The development of students as their palate becomes more refined to Japanese cuisine is one of my true joy as a instructor. I am a expert in Shikomi(fish butchery), Sushi, and Kappo Ryori. With my experience I can teach you how to break down a whole fish to prepare for Sashimi/Sushi or preparing Japanese cuisine to add to your everyday healthy diet. Looking forward to servicing your needs.
It's a craft before art, so the concept of constant refinement. Guiding each student to hone their craft while refining their palate of Japanese cookery. It is inspiring to see each student grow and seeing their smiling moments every time they make something Oishi :)
I was born on Jeju Island which helms some of the best seafood in the world. So seafood and its culture has been part of my life. I have been working in restaurant industry for +15 years, ~5 years at Michelin/NY Times ⭐️ NYC Restaurants, internships in France and Japan, and I am currently working as a Chef at a Japanese establishment. Also I worked as a Sushi Instructor for 3 years so I have a strong understanding in how to construct a lesson plan,expertly guiding students, and most importantly making sure the students are in a comfortable learning environment.
