About Robin L

I'm a national award-winning journalist for magazines and newspapers, and author of the children’s book M is for Mindful.

My essays have been published in The Sun, Motherwell, and other literary magazines and anthologies.

After receiving a bachelor’s degree in language and literature from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, I worked for eleven years in newsrooms including The Herald-Sun in Durham, North Carolina, and the Democrat and Chronicle in Rochester, New York. My work has earned awards from the Education Writers Association, the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Press Association, the New York Newspaper Publishers Association, and elsewhere.

In 2008 I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, where I saw the curvature of the earth at sunrise.

When I’m not writing professionally, I’m writing for pleasure. Learn more about me and my work at (concealed information) Find me on Twitter: @thekineticpen.

Motto: Know what you want. Work hard to get it. Accept what comes next.
