About Kimberly

I work with students beyond the structure of technique to connnect to themselves in the dance and their own unique expression. This approach fosters confidence on the dance floor and in life as students learn to let go of the technique and be fully present to themselves in the dance. As an empath, I am able to tune in to the energetic frequency of my students to guide them in connecting more with themselves and with their partners.

This is not a course that students would need to continue on a regular basis. It's a nice way to assess where you are, get a little feedback about how you can improve and go back out there and dance. You might consider coming back a couple of times a year to see how well you have been able to integrate the feedback and go a little deeper.

I enjoy dancing - period. Movement of the body to sound, vibration, music. Our bodies automatically know how to move to most of what we hear if we simply tune in and allow. I have been partner dancing for over 10 years and have trained at various studies all over the US including Houston, New York and Chicago. Most of my expertise and learning, however, has come from partner dancing with others. Experience has been my greatest teacher. I want to help others to connect to themselves, to move beyond the structure of technique and the "1-2-3" to that which is beyond words in learning to tune into and trust themselves through movement.

About the lesson

1) A brief discussion on the format of the class, the students dance level, any particular items of focus

2) Brief excercises to warm up/loosen up and focus on partner connection

3) Pre-dance (before instruction), offer adjustments/recommendations, Post dance ( after instruction). This will be done to 2-3 tunes of varying pace.

4) Video record dance ( at students preference )

NOTE: This class is NOT about technique. It is about dancing from the heart. What is required to be successful in this class is to have an open heart, be ready/willing to laugh at yourself and have fun ( there is no right or wrong) and surrender to the experience. That is all:-)

Adults (Mostly male leads) though I am open to working with females too!
