About Renee
Rhythmic Emotions offers dance instruction that is informed by both dance instruction and behavioral medicine, which bolsters the development of progressive dance foundations that help foster joy on the dance floor. By day, Julianna is a clinical psychologist and mindfulness meditation researcher and practictioner and by night she teaches in Nashville and surrounding areas Bachata, Kizomba, and Zouk.
Nashville has amazing instructors for ballroom, WCS, and traditional Latin dances such as salsa and bachata. There was a niche in sensual dances such as Sensual bachata, Kizomba, Kiz, and ZOUK, and instructors and students encouraged her development in these less versed areas out of demand for growth in these areas.
Julianna has completed instructor trainings and hundreds of hours of dance training in bachata, zouk, and Kizomba. She instructs in TN, AL, ATL, anc WA, and has performed zouk, kizomba, and bachata in a variety of venues in TN and FL. She is the organizer of WILD OUT Dance Festival and BKZ Nashville and co-organizes with NZN. By day, she’s a clinical psychologist, educator, researcher, and mindfulness meditation practitioner. All of which lend to her unique teaching style that helps students of all shapes, sizes, and health related issues enjoy dance more fully. She also helps people who struggle with connection and intimacy in her clinic and on the dance floor.

Julianna’s initial appointment includes carving out time to learn about the student’s dance goals, experiences, strengths, growth areas, and physical, emotional, and cognitive blocks. Julianna will then lead or follow to further clarify growth plan. She and the student will collaboratively develop a growth plan to build and expand upon progressive foundations, which may include referrals to other instructors or community resources.
