About Sarazina
In my teaching and practice, I aim to use dance as a tool to discover new ways of engaging in our surroundings - context being vital for this to work. It’s very important to me in to be able to use the body to investigate and question the world. I often like to bring dialogue into my dance classes because I believe dance is a perfect form to express, examine, and portray how inequalities are embodied in day to day life, and it’s important to be able to verbalize that. In this way, I find it engaging to collaborate with my students because they can be very insightful and bring their unique understandings and experiences of the world to the table.
I am very passionate about the work that I do and I love to watch people learn and become inspired. I have had experience teaching dance to children and more recently, I taught dance at NYU, and I find teaching to be very rewarding!
I believe my skills and background as a modern dancer, performer, choreographer, and teacher will be a great fit for the role of a dance teacher. I grew up in the East Village of NYC, have been taking dance classes and performing since age 4, and have been involved in the arts ever since, including receiving a BA in performing arts.
