About Ari
Ari is a world-class instructor, well-known for both his fun, energetic, and delightful classes that can't help but inspire students with a love and passion for dance, and for his clear, articulate teaching style that can take even the most complex steps and concepts and make them easy to understand and fun to do.
Focusing on the art of social partner dancing, Ari has been teaching and performing nationally and internationally for over 30 years. He is the co-founder and director of "Waltz Week in Vienna”, “Harrison Hot Springs Dance & Spa Retreat”, “Mexico Dance Week”, “Waltz Fest NW”, “Heart-Sound Fusion”, and "The New Zealand Dance Adventure"; and is one of this country's leading innovators and instructors in the areas of "blended" social-partner dance, cross-step waltz, "fusion" waltz, "fusion" swing, & night club 2-step.
Ari teaches all forms of social partner dancing, including:
Blues (slow drag, jump blues, ballroomin'/jouk, blues-waltz, tango-blues fusion)
Swing (ECS, WCS, lindy, balboa, collegiate shag, Charleston, Laminu, one-step, swing-fusion)
Fusion (micro, macro, and blending multiple dance styles together, such as latin-waltz fusion, or swango)
Waltz (slow waltz, cross-step waltz, rotary waltz, Viennese waltz, redowa, troika, fusion-waltz, blues-waltz)
Foxtrot (American style, international style, laminu, fox-fusion)
Night Club 2-Step
WCS (blues, contemporary, swango, wcs-fusion);
Hustle
Country 2-Step
Latin (salsa, rumba, cha cha, kizomba, merengue, bachata, tango)
When not dancing, Ari is a physician on faculty with Singularity University's "Exponential Medicine” program, and is a pioneer in the burgeoning field of "Experiential Wellness Medicine" which, among other things, uses dance and the Arts as a modality for diagnosing and treating patients, as well as for personal coaching, couples counseling, corporate leadership training, and for inspiring greater joy in one's life.
