Debbie has been my art teacher for nearly two years and was my son’s art teacher for many years. She is an extremely talented artist and exceptionally engaging art teacher. She is able to work with multiple mediums and materials and she is both flexible in terms of meeting students where they are at and in terms of what they are interested in doing/producing while at the same time providing enough guidance and structure to ensure that students actually learn. She is also gifted at teaching all ages from children to teens to adults. Her style is creative, open, and caring but also serious and well grounded in years of artistic experience and training. I always look forward to my lessons with her.

Debbie’s talent shines through every brushstroke, echoing the stories of her roots and the cultures that shaped her. With warmth and patience, she teaches not just technique, but confidence. Under her guidance, I’ve blossomed as an artist.

First and foremost, Debbie is a talented artist and illustrator with a deep knowledge about art history. What makes her so special, though, is her ability to teach. I take lessons from Debbie whenever I have breaks in my work schedule and in her studio, I unlock creativity that I didn't know I had. Amazing! She is inspiring in many ways!

Debbie has been an excellent painting instructor. She not only has improved my skills immensely over the years, but I feel as though she is giving me lessons on how to appreciate life through painting and art. Her own art work tells many stories just as she does, and I hope to convey the amount of meaning and intention as she does through her work someday. I am proud to call her my teacher in painting and in life.

She taught my son and inspired him to continue doing art and to love it! She is an extraordinary art teacher who really cares about her students learning art, teaching different techniques, and opening students to new ideas to draw from.
