About Mariana
Art is a form of freedom. I'll teach my students to find their own art style by first teaching The elements of art (such as lines, form, colors, and so on), and then bringing in their own interests and artistic skill.
Students will learn the elements of art by close studying contemporary and the great masters, identifying the elements of art through observation, discussion, and practicing.
Students will also have the opportunity to learn about their favorite animations, manga, superheroes, and character design if there is an interest. Students will have the possibility to learn how to use many art materials, including drawing, digital painting, watercolor, oil pastels, and paint, some of which I'll bring for each session (students are not required to have painting materials, but I recommend having a basic initial material for drawing).

My goal is to not only push your child's skills further but to help them feel good about their journey in art. Have fun experimenting and finding their own voice and media.
I'm a certified Art teacher, with a bachelor in Graphic design and a master's in art education.

About the lesson

First we discuss what the goal is: learning how to draw people or landscape, painting, writing comic. From there, I'll bring artists, lessons, and practice materials for the students to reach those goals.
For each session, the students will have a warm-up of 10 minutes to prepare for drawing or painting with a breathing exercise to help further focus. Then, we will discuss the art form or material we will use and the proper way to handle it. For the remainder of the session, the student will practice with the material of choice.
