About Barbara
When I was young I drew on everything; tablewalls, under coffee tables, foggy windows, the mirror in my room...so my mom gave me bowling alley score sheets from my dad's business...I was set. Now, I still doodle on the agenda at school meetings, but I also have channeled my "super power" as my students call it! I do portraits in pencil, pen&ink drawing, water colors, acrylic paints, paper art, and glass etching. I teach drawing, design, and painting to elementary students and private individuals when I get commissioned. Recently, I have done some humpback whale painting I really like. Nature and animals inspire me, and my high school crush married me and he is my biggest fan.
I attended Burnley school of professional art in Seattle (just before they became the Art Institute of Seattle) in the 80's. I have a Master's degree in Education, curriculum and instruction from Concordia University. I am an elementary teacher and a fine artist.
